新葡京平台伦南社区学院 was the first junior college in Texas to incorporate the word “community” in its name.

In the late 1960s, Chester Hastings, the first dean of instruction at MCC, suggested a Scottish Highlander for MCC’s mascot to commemorate the early Scot founder of McLennan County, Neil McLennan. 在2000年代中期，MCC学生投票将汉兰达命名为Mac。
