为了提高德州拥有学位和认证工人的劳动力质量，CREW评估了世纪挑战集团学生的需求，并与社区合作伙伴合作，为努力改善未来发展轨迹的个人创建一个基本需求安全网。

在校园和网上建立基础设施可以帮助满足这些学生的需求。 在社区中建立对这种需求的认识将改变学生对自己处境的看法，以及整个社区如何与需要支持性资源来完成教育的学生联系起来。

新葡京平台伦南社区学院（MCC）校园资源教育网（CREW）努力确保每个想要接受教育的学生都能接受教育，而不会受到基本需求不安全感的阻碍。

 

我们所做的

我们帮助你专注于你的学习 提供资源 满足你的非学术需求。 老实说，这可能意味着……很多不同的东西，比如：

• 为学生提供在校园以及当地社区哪里可以找到食物的信息
• 帮助学生了解和乘坐韦科的公交系统
• 共享医疗保险选择或学生可以去哪里接受医疗保健
• 帮助学生使用技术来完成课程

我们将学生与资源联系起来 在校园和导航访问资源的社区。  如果学生需要知道去哪里找食物、地图、健康诊所、技术等，我们可以提供联系信息和资格要求。 如果学生在打电话和联系方面需要指导，我们可以提供帮助。

我们 定期提供 获取食物来源 在校园通过几种方式。

• 牧羊人之心流动餐车  每个月的第二个星期四下午3点到4点会来R停车场。 学生、教职员工和社区成员可以开车穿过排队领取杂货。 
• Paulanne的储藏室  每月两次，位于学生服务大楼2楼。
• Grab-n-Go站 现在在兽医诊所，ESEC， CSC， LTC， MAC， SS和汉兰达中心。
• CREW can assist with the completion of 快速应用程序. 获得0美元预期家庭贡献的学生有资格获得SNAP，以及符合工作学习计划资格的学生。

• There are 资源博览会 every semester where community partners come in droves to discuss ways they can assist students with a variety of needs, from outside scholarships to accessing health information to affordable activities/events in the community.

什么是基本需求？

According to the 希望中心, bAsic需要安全 is defined as having access to an ecosystem of resources that help maintain an individual's most fundamental aspects of well-being. In order for students to excel in their education, they need to have access to “nutritious and sufficient food; 安全、可靠和充足的住房——可以睡觉、学习、做饭和洗澡； 促进持续身心健康的保健； 负担得起的技术和交通； 个人卫生资源； and childcare and related needs”.

This is based on 马斯洛需求层次理论, which shows that students need to have consistent access to food, shelter, water, etc. before they can address higher-order needs like belonging on campus or self-actualization through learning.

基本需求 is a structural characteristic that impacts a student’s well-being. This means that outside of the individual, the proper ecosystem does not exist to provide for a student’s basic needs. 

为什么基本需求安全很重要？

大学是个人成长和学习的经历，需要持续的时间和精力投入。

Academic interruptions can occur when there is inadequate access to food, housing, mental or physical healthcare, transportation, etc. 每10个学生中就有4个 who start at a community college or technical school graduate with a degree in 6 years.
